This painting was done during my studies. I painted it of myself, although I tried to alter my features, because I did not intend for it to be me. The lighting of the environment is meant to be soft and inviting while the shadows are meant to be harsh. This woman appears to be waiting as she fiddles on the piano. It's up to the viewer as to what exactly is going on. For me, I suppose the is coming to some realization.
